Artist Statement: I am a mixed media artist that has a severe, progressive form of Multiple Sclerosis. Creating art is difficult for me, but I feel as though I have to do it. Art is both a physical and cognitive therapy for me.

Artist Statement : I recently lost my husband and it seems pears are a popular sympathy gift. I had so many pears delivered over the first couple of weeks that it became impossible to consume them all. Target practice came to mind, however, I decided to photograph them and thus preserve them for eternity as I have no control over life, which is fleeting. Maybe I'll photograph a second stage in the future where the aging pears are in a state of decay.

Artist Statement: I enjoy nature photography and the digital manipulation of photos to create impressionistic scenes and abstract images.

Artist Statement : To create this image, I photographed a thin tomato slice on a black background, then mirrored a portion of the image repeatedly to create a digital tapestry. I left a portion of the photo unmirrored (the right and left sides of the image) so that the viewer could see origin of the tapestry.

Artist Statement : Creating art is a way for me to hold onto moments and sensations that drew me to paint in the first place. My artwork is about a felt sense of the lived experience. While the subject matter is the conduit for my paintings, it is the colors, shapes, rhythm and light that excite and inspire me.

Artist Statement: I am Baltimore-based mixed media artist as well as a retired pathologist, devotee of art history, and aficionado of great literature. These eclectic interests unite into a unique visual voice. My art incorporates hand cut collage, acrylic paint, altered photographs, clay, beads and whatever odds and ends find their way into my hellaciously messy studio. What comes out the other end is a dizzying array of boxes, journals, wall pieces and assemblages, as well as cards and prints. Mixed media gives me an enormous sandbox to play in as each piece evolves. My decisions about materials and process are made in service to a concept or image that intrigues me. In my paintings, rich visual layers engage the eye and invite the viewer in. Humor is another essential ingredient in my work. Since 2018 my artwork has been in galleries and juried craft shows in Maryland and northern Virgina. 15% of sales is donated to Baltimore’s Health Care for the Homeless.
